When will I be notified that a complaint has been filed against me?

You will be notified that a complaint has been filed against you once you have been identified and one of the following decisions has been made by the Commissioner:

• dismissal of the complaint before or during investigation;
• order of a conciliation;
• order of investigation.

When will I be informed of the progress of the process bye the Commissaire à la déontologie policère (Police Ethics Commissioner)?

We will contact you at various times during the analysis of your complaint:

• decision rendered after preliminary analysis of the complaint;
• invitation to a conciliation meeting;
• decision on whether to continue the process if conciliation fails;
• decision to hold an investigation and invitation to cooperate;
• decision rendered during or after the investigation;
• decision rendered following a request for review by the complainant.
